Continuing a now-seven year tradition, the Rangers presented Red Bank Generals coach George McCafferty with the Emile Francis Award on February 6 at MSG during the Rangers-Oilers game. The honor is given in recognition of the sacrifice, dedication, and impact that volunteers have on grassroots development and youth and amateur hockey.

The award is in honor of former Rangers Coach and General Manager Emile Francis, who is a longtime supporter of minor hockey and also founded the Metropolitan Junior Hockey Association, which created the foundation from which many local amateur hockey associations and leagues were born.
