• Saros helped Team Finland to a bronze medal at the 2013 Under-18 World Championship and was named Best Goaltender after finishing second in the tournament in goals-against average (1.86) and save percentage (.946).

• His childhood hockey idol was Vezina Trophy winner and fellow Finn Miikka Kiprusoff.
