On December 11, Delta Airlines, the official airline of The Madison Square Garden Company and proud supporter of the Garden of Dreams Foundation, hosted the third annual “Holiday in the Hangar” event at John F. Kennedy Airport. As a part of the event, over 100 children from the Garden of Dreams Foundation, including children from Harlem Dowling and Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center, arrived at JFK for their destination the North Pole.
Upon arrival, the children received their special boarding passes and were escorted by elves to the plane. On board they were joined by the Rockettes who accompanied them on their journey.
The plane departed the gate bound for the magical winter wonderland on a private Delta aircraft. Upon arrival at the North Pole, the children were greeted by Delta elves, the Coca-Cola polar bear, Rangers alumnus Rod Gilbert, Knicks alumnus John Starks, Knicks City Dancers, Liberty alumnus Kym Hampton, and of course, the Rockettes and Santa. The children raced through the winter wonderland to explore the street hockey activities at the Rangers Road Tour and inflatable hockey rink, Knicks Groove Truck, Wii gaming stations, Santa’s sleigh and much more!
The “Holiday in the Hangar” experience was truly a once-in-a-lifetime memory for every child at the North Pole.
