FLA AT NYR
The first Rangers-Islanders game of the 2007-08 season ended with the same final score as three of last four played in 2006-07. Once again, it was a 2-1 game, only this time the Islanders claimed victory, thanks to 36 saves from goaltender Rick DiPietro. All three goals in the game were scored by defenseman, including Fedor Tyutin's second-period goal for the Rangers.

NOTES

* Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made 28 saves, including 14 in the opening period.

* Four of the last five Rangers-Islanders games in the regular season have ended in scores of 2-1.

* Fedor Tyutin's second-period goal broke a Rangers scoreless string of 89:07. The goal was Tyutin's first of the season and his first against the Islanders since Feb. 10, 2006.

* Former Rangers defenseman Bryan Berard scored the game-winner for the Islanders in his first game since signing a free-agent contract on Tuesday. The Islanders dressed seven defensemen.
