POST-GAME NOTES
\r\nRangers 2, N.Y. Islanders 3

NYR AT
The Rangers came close -- very close -- to what would have been a five-game winning streak on Tuesday night at the Nassau Coliseum. Instead, the Islanders rallied for three third-period goals to trip up the Blueshirts 3-2 and end Henrik Lundqvist's career-high shutout streak at 159:34. Chris Drury and Paul Mara scored for the Rangers, who next face Pittsburgh on Thursday at MSG.

Recap

THREE STARS OF THE GAME

2. R. FEDOTENKO -- NYI
3. R. DiPIETRO -- NYI

NOTES

* Henrik Lundqvist made 24 saves and saw his career-high shutout streak end at 159:34 when Trent Hunter scored early in the third period.

* Chris Drury scored his third goal of the season and is now just one behind team leader Brendan Shanahan

* The Rangers allowed more than one goal in a game for the first time since an Oct. 27 loss to Toronto. The Blueshirts had only allowed two total goals during the four-game winning streak the led into Tuesday night.

* An Islanders power-play goal in the third period ended a streak of 23 straight successful penalty kills by the Rangers.

* There was a stretch of 6:21 in the first period without a whistle.
