It took just under 11 months for the New York Rangers to return to first place in the NHL's Atlantic Division, but they did it in style on Thursday night in Philadelphia. The Blueshirts went all the way to an overtime shootout, where Brendan Shanahan delivered the deciding goal in a 4-3 victory over the Flyers. The Rangers have won four straight games and eight of their last nine.

NOTES

* Scott Gomez tallied two assists to extend his scoring streak to eight games, registering 11 points (two goals and nine assists) over the span. Gomez has also registered an assist in six straight games and is now within two games of tying his career-high 10-game scoring streak.

* Brendan Shanahan extended his team goal-scoring lead with his sixth goal of the season.

* Henrik Lundqvist stopped 20 shots for his 10th victory of the season and his second victory in two nights.

* Petr Prucha snapped a 17-game goal-scoring drought when he gave the Blueshirts a 3-2 lead in the third period.

* The Rangers have won five straight games in Philadelphia and have not lost at the Wachovia Center since April 15, 2006.
