GAME NOTES: Rangers at Pittsburgh Penguins
Tonight's Game
The Rangers face-off against the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at Mellon Arena (7:30 p.m.) in the final game of a four-game road trip. The Blueshirts are currently tied for first place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 11-7-1 and rank fifth in the Eastern Conference with 23 points. The Rangers enter tonight's contest having defeated the Philadelphia Flyers, 4-3, in a shootout on Thursday at the Wachovia Center, and have now posted a record of 8-1-0 in the last nine contests including three consecutive wins on the road. New York has won 9 of the last 11 matches after opening the season 2-5-1. Following tonight's game, the Blueshirts will return home to take on the New York Islanders on Monday at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.). The Penguins, 8-10-1, are currently in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with 17 points and have lost four out of their last five games.
