POST-GAME NOTES: Rangers 0, Carolina Hurricanes 4

The Rangers had the misfortune of running into a hot goalie and a team on the rebound Monday night at Madison Square  Garden. Cam Ward made 28 saves, pacing the Carolina Hurricanes to a 4-0 win that kept the Blueshirts from grabbing a share of the Eastern Conference lead.

NOTES


* Dan Girardi delivered five hits and four shots, and logged 20:32 of icetime. It marked the 15th consecutive contest in which he has recorded at least 20 minutes of icetime.

* Brandon Dubinsky dished out a game-high, seven hits, which also marks his career-high.

* Scott Gomez registered five shots on goal and won seven of 10 faceoffs (70%) in 17:38 of icetime.

* Henrik Lundqvist made 25 saves to drop his record to 14-10-1 overall and 9-5-0 at home. He has started each of the Rangers' 14 games at MSG this season.

* Martin Straka logged a team-high, 21:40 of icetime among forwards. He is one assist shy of 100 assists as a Ranger.

* The Blueshirts held the Hurricanes scoreless in three power play opportunities (4:32) and have successfully killed 65 of the last 73 power plays dating back to October 23 at Pittsburgh. The Rangers entered Monday's game tied for fourth overall in penalty killing percentage.
