GAME NOTES: Rangers at Colorado Avalanche

Tonight's Game
The Rangers face off against the Colorado Avalanche tonight at the Pepsi Center (9:00 p.m.) in the second of back-to-back road contests vs. Northwest Division opponents. The Blueshirts are currently in second place in the Atlantic Division standings with a record of 17-14-3, and rank sixth in the Eastern Conference with 37 points. New York enters the contest having lost to the Wild, 6-3, last night at the Xcel Energy Center and have now earned at least one point in three of their last five games, going 2-2-1 during the stretch. Following tonight's contest, the Rangers will return home to take on the Ottawa Senators on Sunday, Dec. 23 at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.), their fifth game in eight days. The Avalanche, 19-13-2, are currently in third place in the Northwest Division with 40 points and have won five of their last seven games.
