GAME NOTES: Rangers at Edmonton Oilers
The Rangers face-off against the Edmonton Oilers tonight at Rexall Place (10:00 p.m. ET) as they close out their Western Canada road trip. The Blueshirts are currently in third place in the Atlantic Division standings with a record of 20-17-4, and rank seventh in the Eastern Conference with 44 points. New York enters the contest having lost to the Canucks, 3-0, on Thursday at General Motors Place and have now lost their last two games after winning three straight. Following tonight's contest, the Rangers will return home to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, January 8, at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.). The Oilers, 17-21-4, are currently in fifth place in the Northwest Division with 38 points and have lost seven of their last eight games.
