The Rangers face-off against the Washington Capitals in a matinee matchup today at the Verizon Center (1:00 p.m.) in the second game of a back-to-back road set. The Blueshirts are currently in fourth place in the Atlantic Division standings with a record of 28-24-6, and rank seventh in the Eastern Conference with 62 points. New York enters the contest having defeated the Flyers, 2-0, yesterday at the Wachovia Center and have now won their last four games on the road, outscoring their opponents, 14-4, over the span. The Rangers have posted a record of 3-5-1 in the second game of back-to-back sets this season, including a 3-2-0 mark when winning the first game of the set. Following today's contest, the Rangers will have a season-long, five-day break before returning to action against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, February 16, at Madison Square Garden (1:00 p.m.). The Capitals, 26-25-5, are currently tied for third place in the Southeast Division standings with 57 points and have lost their last two games at home.
