The Garden Faithful couldn't have been happier with the Rangers' effort at home on Sunday night, as the Blueshirts dominated Florida for a 5-0 win that lifted them into sixth place and enabled goalie Henrik Lundqvist to earn his eighth shutout.

NOTES

* Henrik Lundqvist turned aside 23 shots to post his eighth shutout of the season. He is the first Ranger goalie to record eight shutouts since Eddie Giacomin accomplished the feat during the 1970-71 season.

* Scott Gomez notched one goal, added two assists and posted a plus-3 rating. He has registered nine points (two goals and seven assists) in the last seven games.

* Marek Malik recorded one goal and added an assist. He has registered five points in two games vs. the Panthers at MSG this season.

* Martin Straka collected one goal and one assist. He has tallied one goal and six assists for seven points in the last six games.

* Jaromir Jagr registered one goal in 19:08 of icetime. He has tallied a goal in each of the last two games, and has registered six points (two goals and four assists) in the last three games.

* Nigel Dawes notched one goal at 5:54 of the third period to become the second Rangers’ rookie to record 10 or more goals this season (Brandon Dubinsky). The last time two or more Rangers’ rookies tallied 10 or more goals in a season was 1999-00 (Mike York – 26; Jan Hlavac – 19).
 
* Brendan Shanahan collected an assist on Gomez’s game-winning goal. He extended his scoring streak to five games, registering six points (three goals and three assists) over the span.

* Chris Drury tallied one assist and won eight of 14 faceoffs (57%). He has recorded at least one point in six consecutive games, notching three goals and four assists for seven points during the stretch.

* The Rangers have sold out 108 consecutive regular-season games.
