New York Rangers
The Rangers face-off against their division rivals, the New York Islanders, tonight at Nassau Coliseum (7:00 p.m.) in thesecond game of a home and home set. The Blueshirts are currently in third place in the Atlantic Division standings with a record of 34-24-9, and rank seventh in the Eastern Conference with 77 points. New York enters the contest having been defeated by the Islanders, 4-3, in a shootout on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden and have now earned at least one point in 10 straight contests (7-0-3). The Rangers are 12-3-3 in their last 18 contests dating back to a 4-0 win on Jan. 22 vs. Atlanta. Following today's match, the Rangers return home to face-off against the Boston Bruins, Sunday, March 9, at Madison Square Garden (3:00 p.m.) in the first game of a back-to-back set. The Islanders, 32-29-7, are currently in fifth place in the Atlantic Division standings with 71 points and have lost four of their last six games.
