It didn't take very long for the Rangers to get back to winning on Tuesday night, as the Blueshirts jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead and surged ahead to a 5-2 victory over Pittsburgh, enabling goalie Henrik Lundqvist to pick up his 100th careeer win.

NOTES

* Sean Avery notched two goals and posted a plus-two rating to earn First Star honors. He has registered 12 points (seven goals and five assists) in the last 12 games.

* Henrik Lundqvist made 22 saves to record his 33rd win of the season and 100th of his career. He needed only 187 games to reach 100 career wins, becoming the fastest Rangers goalie to reach the mark (Mike Richter – 198 games).

* Dan Girardi registered an assist and delivered five hits. He has collected two points (one goal and one assist) in the last three games.

* Brandon Dubinsky recorded an assist and registered a game-high, seven hits. He leads all NHL rookies with 174 hits.
