The Blueshirts got off to a fast start on Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh on a goal by Brandon Dubinsky, but the Eastern Conference-leading Penguins turned it up the rest of the way for a 3-1 win. The teams meet again on Monday night at MSG.

NOTES

* Petr Prucha was back in the lineup, playing for the second time in the past 3 games. He took the place of Colton Orr, who was scratched for only the fourth time this season.

* Brandon Dubinsky scored his 14th goal of the season, and his first in 13 games. Dubinsky and Brendan Shanahan led the Rangers with six shots on goal apiece.

* Prior to allowing a 5-on-3 power-play goal to the Penguins late in the first period, the Rangers had killed off 18 of 20 two-man disadvantages this season.

* Defenseman Fedor Tyutin had four of the team’s 17 blocked shots.

* Christian Backman earned an assist, and is now 1-4-5 in the last four games.

* Jaromir Jagr also had an assist, and he is 2-2-4 in the past four contests.
