Grachev claims bronze with Russia
Rangers prospect finishes World Junior tourney with five points
Grachev, who finished the tournament with two goals and three assists in seven games, picked up an assist on the eventual game-winning goal by his linemate Nikita Filatov.
A first-round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Filatov gave Russia a 3-1 lead at 19:28 of the second period. Grachev, one of two Rangers third-rounders in the same draft, had the primary assist on Filatov's goal.
Filatov ended the tournament as Russia's top scorer with eight goals and 11 points in seven games.
Russia pushed its lead to 4-1 on Filatov's second goal of the night at 11:11 of the third period. The Slovaks cut the lead to 4-2 on a power play with 2:59 remaining, but Russia sealed the win with an empty-net goal.
Grachev, one of the true standout players on this year's Russian team, will return to the Brampton Battalion for the remainder of the OHL season. He has been among Brampton's top three scorers all season.
