The New York Rangers joined Ice Hockey in Harlem for their 22nd Annual Winter Sports Auction on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at ESPN Zone. This year's event featured numerous Rangers players and alumni, who were all on-hand to support the introduction of Scott Gomez as honorary captain of Ice Hockey in Harlem.

Gomez, along with teammates, Fredrik Sjostrom, Petr Prucha, and Nigel Dawes, as well as alumni Rod Gilbert, Adam Graves, Ron Duguay and Stephane Matteau were all on-hand to sign autographs and mingle with fans who enjoyed a special evening that featured a live auction, silent auction and raffle.

"I'm thrilled to be an honorary captain for Ice Hockey In Harlem," said Gomez. "This is an organization that means a lot to me and I'm looking forward to contributing in any way possible."

Gomez joins the illustrious ranks of former Ice Hockey in Harlem honorary captains Mike Gartner, Jeff Beukeboom, and Manny Malhotra.
