Rangers will continue to call 1050 ESPN New York their radio home
MSG Media and 1050 ESPN Radio have announced a multi-year extension for 1050 to continue as the radio broadcast home of the New York Knicks and New York Rangers.
The deal also includes an unprecedented multi-tiered cross-promotional effort between Madison Square Garden – Knicks, Rangers and MSG Media – and 1050 ESPN Radio.
"We're excited to continue our partnership with 1050 ESPN Radio, and all the unique marketing and promotional opportunities that come with being involved with such a world-renowned brand," stated Michael Bair, president, MSG Media. “It allows two of the strongest brands in sports, MSG and ESPN, to continue this successful relationship that has served New York sports fans, the most astute in the world, with the highest quality radiocasts in the country.”
“We’re proud and excited to extend our long-term partnership with the Garden,” said Tim McCarthy, president and general manager, 1050 ESPN Radio. “There is a dynamic energy about the Knicks and Rangers which translates into compelling, live entertainment for our listeners. We’re excited that 1050 continues to join ‘The World’s Most Famous Arena’ as the Knicks and Rangers address, delivering the best local sports product to our listeners.”
“Knicks and Rangers fans have shown that they know where to go for the best sports radio play-by-play coverage", said Scott O’Neil, president, MSG Sports. "ESPN Radio has proven to be an outstanding partner for the Knicks and Rangers and we are excited to continue our relationship with 1050.”
