Anisimov, Sanguinetti show off their skills
Rangers prospects help PlanetUSA team win AHL Skills Competition
Anisimov competed in the Rapid Fire event and the Breakaway Relay, which capped off the evening. Anisimov scored on 3-of-5 shots in the Rapid Fire, helping his PlanetUSA goalies secure the points for by making more saves against the Canadian team.
Anisimov was one of only two players to score three times in the Rapid Fire event. All three of his goals came against Mike Brodeur, a goaltender who attended the Rangers’ training camp last fall.
Sanguinetti took part in the Hardest Shot competition, registering a shot of 93.2 mph to finish fifth among the eight participants. Worcester’s Derek Joslin won the Hardest Shot title with a blast of 98.6 mph.
Sanguinetti and Anisimov, the Rangers’ top two picks in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and Vancouver, will be representing the Hartford Wolf Pack in the AHL All-Star Game, which begins at 7 p.m. ET on Monday night.
