Hartford continues to lead Calder Cup playoff series, 2-1
The Pack, who won the Atlantic Division's regular-season title, lead the best-of-seven series 2-1 with Game 4 set for Wednesday night in Worcester.
It was a back-and-forth game with lots of shots, as the Sharks outshot the Pack 45-36.
Defenseman Corey Potter got the Wolf Pack on the board first with 5:44 left in the opening period.
Potter, who played a handful of games for the Blueshirts during the regular season, scored on a power play off assists from defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti and Zaba.
The Sharks came right back to tie the game, however, making it 1-1 with with 1:18 left in the period on a goal by Tom Cavanaugh.
Hartford went back in front on a goal by Rangers 2008 draftee Dale Weise at 5:01 of the second period, but the Sharks countered again, this time only 84 seconds later on a goal by Vesce of Lloyd Harbor, N.Y., at 6:25 of the middle period.
The 20-year-old Weise's goal was assisted by two other Rangers prospects in Potter, who picked up his second point of the night, and 22-year-old forward Brodie Dupont.
