Children were joined by Rangers legend, Rod Gilbert, who helped welcome the group on their first day and offered special skating instruction on the ice.
“The instructions that the kids are getting are terrific,” said the Director of Sports and Recreation at Children’s Aid Society, Kelsey Stevens. “And they’re having a lot of fun!”
Gilbert, who also signed autographs and took numerous photos with the youngsters, knows that this is certainly a unique experience. “We want to teach these kids,” he stated. “And expose them to things that normally they would never have the chance to do.”
Each child received a commemorative "Dream Week 09" Rangers jersey and a lifetime of memories!
Dream Week continued on Tuesday, July 7, as the kids traveled to Manhattan for a morning with the Radio City Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall and an afternoon with Fuse host, Dee, at Fuse Studios. On Wednesday, the children returned to the MSG Training Center to spend an afternoon with the New York Knicks and Liberty. On Thursday, July 9, MSG Media hosted the Dream Week team at the Liberty-Sparks game at Madison Square Garden.
Dream Week concluded on Friday, July 10, when the children made their way back to the MSG Training Center in Westchester for a special culminating party and summer BBQ alongside Garden celebrities, including Adam Graves. The day concluded with an award ceremony and each child received a special award in honor of Dream Week and their specific role and/or personality. MSG host/announcer, Tina Cervasio was the emcee for the award ceremony, while Fuse host Dee and MSG Sports Legends Adam Graves and Kym Hampton handed out the trophies and commemorative photo books.
