Rangers Daily Prospect Update -- Aug. 24

Pavel Valentenko, one of the two Rangers prospects obtained in the June 30 trade involving Scott Gomez, suffered his first preseason defeat with Moscow Dynamo on Monday, as visiting Dynamo fell to Swiss league powerhouse HC Lugano 5-2. Valentenko, however, managed to pick up his second point of the preseason, assisting on Leonid Komarov's power-play goal, which gave Dynamo a 1-0 lead at 5:33 of the first period. After spending some weeks training in Switzerland, Dynamo will return to Moscow for its remaining preseason games.
