Bourque continues to have big impact in QMJHL preseason
Bourque, who was picked by the Rangers in the third round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, now has a remarkable three goals and two assists in three preseason games with Quebec -- his first ever action at the major-junior level.
The 18-year-old son of Hall of Famer Ray Bourque, Ryan tied the game 2-2 on a power play at 9:53 of the second period. He then notched the deciding goal as the final shooter in the third round. Quebec scored on two of its three attempts, while Chicoutimi scored on only one.
Bourque will be reporting to the MSG Training Center by next weekend and will play with the Blueshirts team in Traverse City next week. He will also be eligible to participate in the Rangers' main training camp, which begins Sept. 12.
