Rangers Daily Prospect Update -- Sept. 6

Ivan Baranka, a former Rangers defenseman who remains on the team's reserve list, helped Moscow Spartak win the four-team Moscow Mayor's Cup tournament on Sunday.

Spartak pounded the Soviet Wings 13-6 to finish the round-robin 2-0-1. Baranka and his teammates ended up winning the tournament when previously undefeated Moscow CSKA fell to Moscow Dynamo 4-3. Mikhail Pashin, a 2009 Rangers draft pick, played in that game for CSKA.
