Graves hosts street hockey clinic
On September 14, the Rangers and Garden of Dreams partnered with Children's Village to conduct a special street hockey clinic for 30 teenagers led by Adam Graves.

Children's Village in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., was the site of a special street hockey clinic on Sept. 14.
The clinic, which was held at the Children's Village campus in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., was part of an on-going program that introduces children of Garden of Dreams’ partner organizations to the game of hockey at the grassroots level.

“I’m very fortunate to be able to participate in events such as these”, said Graves, “Children’s Village is an outstanding organization and we’re proud to be a partner of theirs.”

After greeting the teens and reviewing basic hockey rules and safety guidelines with them, Graves split the group into two. While half of the teens participated in an organized scrimmage, the other half honed their skills at the Rangers slap shot booth.

Once both groups had an opportunity to participate in each of the activities, Graves sat the teens down and spoke to them about teamwork, safety, respect, and responsibility.

“Events such as this on our campus are really great for the kids as it breaks up the regular routine and get the kids excited ,” said Bill Garrison, Director of Recreational Services at Children’s Village. “Adam, as always, is right on when talking with our kids and amazingly reconfirms what we try to teach the young men.”

Following the talk, pizza was served and Graves personally distributed gift bags to each of the kids.
