The event kicked off at Life Center where children boarded a Gray Line New York double-decker sight-seeing tour bus before heading to Madison Square Garden to pick up Redden and Kotalik for a tour of midtown Manhattan.
Children enjoyed chanting "Let's go Rangers" with their Rangers friends as the bus headed past Radio City Music Hall, around Rockefeller Center and through Times Square before heading over to John's Pizzeria on 44th Street.
“This type of sightseeing is something you don’t normally get a chance to do as someone living in the city”, said Redden. “It’s great to bring the kids along and make some pizza as well.”
Inside the restaurant, children enjoyed endless garlic bread, salad, and soda while learning how to bake their very own pizzas alongside the pros from John's Pizzeria and with a little help from their Rangers friends.
“This is the first time I’ve made my own pizza, I tasted it and it’s great but the kids are having fun which is what it is about”, Ales Kotalik said. “Life is not easy all the time, this is the least we can do for them.”
Pizza was enjoyed by all and John's Pizzeria served up a special cupcake dessert for the kids and players to enjoy!
