It was another big day for the three Rangers prospects representing Team USA at the 2010 World Junior Championships on Sunday afternoon in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Chris Kreider
Blueshirts draftees Chris Kreider, Derek Stepan and Ryan Bourque each had a point in the Americans' 3-0 shutout win over Switzerland. With the victory, the U.S. improved to a perfect 2-0 heading into Tuesday's game against Latvia, the weakest team in the field.

Kreider got the first goal of the game -- which stood up as the winner -- on a power play at 5:57 of the second period, beating highly-regarded Swiss goalie Benjamin Conz for a 1-0 lead off assists from team captain Stepan and Cam Fowler. Kreider scored just 54 seconds after the Swiss had taken their first penalty of the game.

Stepan's assist was his fourth point in two tournament games. The University of Wisconsin sophomore was selected by the Rangers in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Bourque picked up an assist on the second U.S. goal, scored by Matt Donovan at 12:35 of the third period for a 2-0 Team USA lead. Four minutes after that, the U.S. scored again to complete the 3-0 shutout.

Were it not for Cohn's 46-save heroics, the score would have been far more lopsided, since Team USA outshot the Swiss 49-22.

Kreider tied for the U.S. lead with five shots on goal and finished the game with a plus-1 rating.

Roman Horak, the Rangers' other prospect at this year's World Junior Championship tournament, scored a goal on Sunday as his Czech Republic team fell to 0-2 with a 4-3 loss to Finland.

The Czechs jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period, and Horak made it 3-0 with an even-strength goal at 7:53 of the second period, but the Finns came back with four straight goals over the game's final 22:47, including the game-winner at 17:48 of the third period.
