On Nov. 23, the New York Rangers hosted the first of two "Garden of Dreams Nights" to raise awareness of the Garden of Dreams Foundation and to help make dreams come true for children in crisis.

The evening kicked off with children from partner charities watching warm ups from ice level.  The groups met the MSG announcers, received autographs and took photos.

Jack Gilroy, 11, represented the Garden of Dreams Foundation by dropping the Nov. 23 ceremonial puck between Rangers alternate captain Vinny Prospal and Columbus captain Rick Nash.

Ten youngsters from one of the groups participated in a high five line; giving high fives to players as they entered the ice for warm ups.  Eleven year-old Jack Gilroy had the honor of dropping the ceremonial puck prior to the official puck drop that started the Rangers game versus Columbus.  Jazmyn Benjamin, 15, served as an honorary MSG reporter, 11-year old Princilla Asante was afforded the chance to be an honorary MSG photographer and 15-year old Lucien Hannah was an honorary stick kid for the team that night. Several children also enjoyed Zamboni rides throughout the night as a part of the night’s activities.

After warm ups the children watched the game from a catered suite and received visits from Rangers alumni.  The groups enjoyed the Rangers 7-4 victory over the Blue Jackets and were shown on GardenVision, which is something they will truly remember forever.

Throughout the evening, the Garden of Dreams Foundation and the Rangers also held a coat drive in which fans donated gently used coats in exchange for co-branded rain ponchos and hosted informational tables to educate fans on the organization and how they can support the mission.

Garden of Dreams is a non-profit organization that works closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden, including the Knicks, Rangers, Liberty, MSG Media, MSG Entertainment and Fuse to "make dreams come true for kids in crisis." Garden of Dreams partners with local children's hospitals, "wish" organizations and community-based organizations to build on-going, unforgettable programs for children in the tri-state area who are suffering from devastating illness, homelessness, abuse, hunger, extreme poverty and tragedy.
