Rangers forward Brandon Dubinsky is in Germany this month, playing for Team USA at the IIHF World Championship tournament.

Earlier this week, we invited fans to submit questions for Dubinsky here on, and he was gracious enough to take time out of his schedule to respond to a few that we passed along to him. Here are the questions and his answers:

Alena from Paintsville, Ky., asks:

Do you have any pregame rituals?

Dubinsky's response:

I wouldn’t say rituals. I have more of a routine than anything. It’s all about timing. Everything is in line when I get to the rink. When I stretch. When I start getting dressed. When I put my skates on. It’s all on a timetable.

Alexandria V. asks:

Do you have a single favorite on-ice moment from your NHL career so far?

Dubinsky's response:

My first NHL goal against Fleury from the Penguins. I got a pass and went in and went shortside high with it. It was 5-1 at the time, I think, and I was the only one that was really celebrating.

Kait from New York asks:

How do you like playing left wing, and did moving to the wing change your approach to the game?

Dubinsky's response:

I wouldn’t say that it changed my approach. I think it’s grittier, but a lot less responsibilty.

Judy asks:

Other than the hockey, what has been the best thing so far about being with Team USA in Germany?

Dubinsky's response:

Getting to know some of the guys you play against so often and learning that they’re really good guys.

Kathryn from Staten Island, N.Y., asks:

When did you start playing hockey? Do your brothers play too?

Dubinsky's response:

I started playing when I was three. It was called Atoms. We had no goalies, and everybody had a chance to play goal. I never liked to play goalie. I liked to score. My brothers still play in the men’s league at home in Anchorage.

Amy Collora from Lindenhurst, N.Y., asks:

Did you have a different mindset coming into this tournament in comparison to your first World Championship tournament two years ago?

Dubinsky's response:

I think I knew what to expect, which was certainly a help.

Nick from Jackson, N.J., asks:

Do you like playing on the larger ice in Europe or would you rather be playing this tournament on the smaller NHL ice?

Dubinsky's response:

Definitely the smaller NHL ice, because I think the big ice plays tricks on you sometimes. You sometimes feel like you have more time than you really do with the puck.
