Swedes rip Finns, eye U.S. showdown
Kreider Scores in USA Win

Rangers prospect Jesper Fasth, the team's 2010 sixth-round draft pick, helped Sweden to a 6-2 win over Finland on Thursday afternoon in round-robin play at the USA National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Fasth did not crack the scoresheet as Sweden improved to 2-1 heading into its final game against Team USA on Friday. The game will be a rematch of Tuesday's physical matchup that the Americans won 6-3. Fasth's fellow Rangers draftees Chris Kreider and Ryan Bourque both played in that game, and both are expected to compete in Friday's rematch.

The Swedes outshot the Finns 36-15 on Thursday, getting two goals from Carl Klingberg, and one each from Anton Lander, Sebastian Wannstrom (on a penalty shot), Calle Jarnkrok and William Wallen. Fredrik Petterson-Wentzel made 13 saves for the victory.

Sweden led 3-0 after one period and 4-0 on a power-play goal by Klingberg at 2:06 of the second.

Fasth, who will play for HV-71 in Jonkoping, Sweden, this season, has appeared in all three of Sweden's games and has a power-play goal to his credit so far.

Given the intensely physical nature of Tuesday's USA-Sweden game, the meeting on Friday promises to be a grudge match. The team of Americans trying out for the 2011 World Junior roster is 2-0 so far in Lake Placid, outscoring the Swedes and Finns by a combined 12-6 margin.
