The Rangers begin their 2010-11 regular season tonight against the Buffalo Sabres at HSBC Arena (7:00 p.m.), marking the 85th anniversary of the team's inception, dating back to 1926-27. This will be the third consecutive year the Blueshirts have started the season on the road. In six preseason contests, New York posted a record of 4-2-0, including two overtime wins and a shootout victory on Oct. 1 vs. Ottawa. The Sabres opened their regular season campaign with a 2-1 victory on Friday night at Ottawa after posting a record of 4-2-0 in six preseason contests. Following tonight's game, the Rangers will travel to Long Island to face-off against the New York Islanders on Monday, October 11, at Nassau Coliseum (1:00 p.m.), in a matinée match-up between Atlantic Division rivals.
