Saying that his separated left shoulder “feels better”, Rangers winger Marian Gaborik was at the MSG Training Center on Tuesday continuing to rehabilitate the shoulder while also working out off-ice on his cardio training.

“I’m slowly starting to do more stuff,” said Gaborik, who suffered the injury 11 days ago in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. “I don’t know a timetable (to return to the lineup), but it’s moving in the right direction. The doctor and trainers say that it’s progressing good.”

Rangers winger Marian Gaborik, the team's leading scorer last season, said he has really enjoyed seeing how well the Blueshirts have been playing while he has been out of the lineup with a shoulder injury.
Gaborik’s shoulder is no longer in a sling as he works on increasing his range of motion and strength. He also has done extensive work on the lower half of his body -- particularly his legs -- so that he remains strong there for when he is able to return to action.

Although he is not 100 percent certain of an exact date for his return, Gaborik is hoping to be skating on his own again by the start of next week, or perhaps by late this week.

“I’m just trying to make sure I do everything right and make sure that the next day it feels better than the previous one,” said Gaborik. “I am doing more every day, so that the next day it feels better. We’ll see how it is when I get out on the ice, with the movement of the arm. I have to get the range back.”

In his absence, the Rangers have won three of four, including three straight heading into Wednesday’s game at The Garden with the Atlanta Thrashers.

Gaborik has been quite pleased with how his teammates have played since he was hurt.

“They are playing great,” said Gaborik. “It’s fun to watch because they are playing with a great team effort out there. I am happy that we are winning.”
