The Rangers conclude their three-game road trip when they face-off against the Washington Capitals tonight at Verizon Center (7:30 p.m.), in the first game of a back-to-back set. The Blueshirts currently rank third in the Atlantic Division standings, and seventh in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 28-19-3 (59 pts). The Rangers enter tonight's contest having defeated the Atlanta Thrashers, 3-2, in the shootout on Saturday at Philips Arena to improve to 11-6-2 in their last 19 games, and have now registered a point in 23 of their last 35 (21-12-2). The Capitals enter the contest with a 27-14-8 (62 pts) record to rank fifth in the Eastern Conference, and have registered a point in each of their last four games (3-0-1). Following tonight's contest, the Rangers will conclude their league-high, 14th back-to-back set when they face-off against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.), in their fifth game in seven nights heading into the All-Star break.
