Pregame: Rangers vs. Carolina
Rangers Prospects Team Game No. 3 at Traverse City, Mich.
The Blueshirts are coming off a 6-2 victory over Dallas on Sunday -- a game in which they got two goals from Ryan Bourque, who became the team's all-time goal-scoring leader at Traverse City with eight goals in 10 career games. Bourque also moved to within one point of tying Brandon Dubinsky for the Rangers' all-time scoring lead in the tournament.
Also scoring for the Rangers were J.T. Miller, Shane McColgan, Jason Wilson and Andrew Yogan. The victory clinched the tournament's Gretzky Division championship and berth in Wednesday night's championship game where the Blueshirts will look to regain the title they won in 2007.
Today, the team tunes up for the finale against a winless but hungry Carolina team that was edged 2-1 by St. Louis on Sunday after leading 1-0 with under 11 minutes left to play. The Rangers will be looking to pay back the 'Canes, the 2009 tournament champs, for last year's 1-0 loss to them at Traverse City.
Game time is 3 p.m. ET and will air on MSG. Fans outside the Rangers' broadcast territory can watch the MSG broadcast on the NHL Network.

Despite their youth, the 'Canes showed a big improvement over their first two games. After losing their opener 8-2 to Dallas on Saturday, Carolina nearly pulled out a win against a much more experienced St. Louis team on Sunday afternoon.
Carolina's goals in this tournament have been scored by tryout invitee Tyler Carroll, Victor Rask, a 2011 second-round draft pick out of Sweden, and Rask's countryman Mattias Lindstrom, who was a teammate of Rangers defenseman Tim Erixon with Skelleftea last season.
The Hurricanes roster also features 2011 first-round pick Ryan Murphy and fellow defenseman Justin Faulk, a 2010 second-rounder who was Rangers forward Ryan Bourque's teammate on the 2011 bronze-medal winning U.S. World Junior team.
Like the Rangers, the Hurricanes have some relatives of ex-NHL players on their team. The legacy group includes defenseman Keegan Lowe, the son of former Rangers defenseman Kevin Lowe, forward Brody Sutter, the son of longtime NHL player and coach Duane Sutter, and forward Jared Staal, the youngest brother of current Rangers alternate captain Marc Staal.
