Rangers fans with strong and vivid memories of the Blueshirts' run to the 1994 Stanley Cup championship might have a chance to share them with the world as part of a new documentary film about the Cup run being produced by the National Hockey League.
The NHL's documentary will focus on Rangers fans who went through the emotions of 1994, and the league's film will show the championships season primarily from their perspective. Toward this end, the league is now looking for Blueshirts fans eager to share their stories from the spring of 1994.
So if you consider yourself to be the kind of fan who "bleeds Broadway Blue", the NHL wants to hear from you.
|The producers of a new documentary about the 1994 Cup run want to show why this moment was about Rangers fans who had waited for it as much as it was about Rangers players who made it happen.|
In their own words, the producers note that:
"In all of our lives there exist those moments where we will always remember where we were. For Rangers players and devoted fans, the 1994 season was filled with vivid memories of days which they will never forget. In this new documentary, we will bring these moments back to life.
"We’re looking for colorful Ranger fans to share their memories of the 1993-1994 season. Where were you when you first heard ‘The Guarantee?' How’d you take the news that Mike Gartner was dealt at the trade deadline? Where were you when the buzzer sounded and the Cup was hoisted?"
Fans wishing to share their "rich, unforgettable stories" with the producers of this new documentary can send them to the following e-mail address:
The producers will in turn reach out to those whose stories might be chosen for use in the film.
