Gaborik set to have shoulder surgery
Off-season procedure scheduled for next week to repair torn labrum
New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that Marian Gaborik will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder. The procedure will be performed by Dr. Andrew Feldman and Dr. Anthony Maddalo on Wednesday, June 6, at the NYU Langone Medical Center's Hospital for Joint Diseases in Manhattan.
Gaborik was one of seven Rangers to appear in all 82 games this season. He ranked third in the NHL with a team-high, 41 goals, and also led the team in scoring with 76 points.
Gaborik tied the franchise record and his career-high with three overtime goals. He is tied for sixth in the league in goals scored over the last three seasons, tallying 107 goals since joining the team on July 1, 2009, and became the third player in franchise history to register multiple 40-goal seasons with the team.
