Three Rangers Prospects Selected For 2012 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp

New York Rangers prospects JT Miller, Brady Skjei and Steven Fogarty have been selected for Team USA’s final 34-man roster for its 2012 National Junior Evaluation Camp. They will now take part in a series of international games this week against Sweden and Finland in Lake Placid, to compete for a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia.

Miller is one of three remaining players who represented the U.S. at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship. He registered two goals and four points in six games for Team USA at the elite tournament. Skjei and Fogarty are both looking to compete in their first World Junior Championship.

He established USHL career-highs in games played, assists, points, and penalty minutes. Skjei tied for seventh on the team in assists, tied for third among team defensemen in points and ranked fourth among U.S. defensemen in assists. He helped Team USA capture the gold medal at the Under-18 World Championship, recording one assist, 10 shots on goal and led all tournament skaters with a plus-10 rating in six contests.

Fogarty, the Rangers third round choice (72nd overall) in 2011, registered 33 goals and 49 assists for 82 points, along with 32 penalty minutes in 60 games with the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) last season. He ranked fourth on the team in goals, sixth in assists and sixth in points. He was instrumental in the Vees’ record-setting 42-game winning streak, leading the league with 10 game-winning goals.
