2013 New York Rangers Youth Hockey Camp presented by Chase: Day 4 Recap
|Rangers forward Chris Kreider has fun with the players during Youth Hockey Camp.|
On-Ice AM Sessions: Placed the campers in even play situations through 1-on-1 confrontations with point shots and 2-on-2 tight area games. Goaltenders moved on to net play and high shot rebound control.
On-Ice PM Sessions: Included an appearance by current New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider. The Blueshirt’s No. 20 coached all of our groups through odd man and defensive situations/awareness. Quick pivots, one drill utilized by our staff, developed players body positioning, skating and keeping the puck in a pass ready position.
Dynamic Training: Was led by Coach Jason Fortino of Total Nunziato Training located in Elmwood Park, NJ. Today’s lesson included programming around quick feet and high jumps.
Classroom Session Day 4: Reinforced each of the lessons learned throughout the week of nutrition, hydration and physical fitness with a nutritional based game of jeopardy.
Off-Ice Skills Sessions: Focused on the fundamentals of high shots on both the near and far side of the net. Goaltenders progressed to lateral movements and hand eye coordination.
Tomorrow’s Preview: Rangers legend Adam Graves stops by.
