2013 New York Rangers Youth Hockey Camp presented by Chase: Week 3 Day 4 Recap

On-Ice AM Sessions: Even play situations and awareness began Thursday morning as players improved upon legal use of hands/body, creating scoring chances and mobility.

On-Ice PM Sessions: Current New York Ranger Derick Brassard joined players for afternoon practices offering instruction on odd man and defensive situations. Lessons covered confined space development, proper angles and puck support. Goaltending instruction included reading deflections and proper net play.

Dynamic Training: Was led by Coach Jason Fortino of Total Nunziato Training located in Elmwood Park, NJ. Thursday’s program utilized ladders and hurdles to improve footwork.

Off-Ice Skills Sessions: allowed campers to build on their shooting skills with stationary fundamentals of shooting high on near and far sides of the net. Goaltenders increased flexibility before breaking into small area hand eye coordination games.

Tomorrow’s Preview: Brian Mullen
