Long-time New York Rangers Public Relations Executive John Rosasco Promoted to Senior Vice President, Public Relations & Player Recruitment
Glen Sather, New York Rangers President and General Manager, today announced that 26-year MSG veteran John Rosasco has been promoted to senior vice president, public relations and player recruitment. In this position, John is responsible for all aspects of the communications activities of the organization, as well as for the oversight and implementation of all aspects of the team’s player recruitment efforts.
“John has been an integral part of the New York Rangers family throughout his entire career, starting with the team as a student in 1987,” said Mr. Sather. “Over the decades, John has become one of the team’s strongest and most capable leaders, charged with crucial responsibilities regarding the team’s communications efforts and outreach to prospective players.“
As senior vice president of public relations and player recruitment, Mr. Rosasco serves as team spokesperson and oversees all media relations functions for the team, including important team announcements, traditional team coverage, team publications and photography, and proactive public relations initiatives to non-traditional media outlets. He helps oversee the development and execution of public relations strategies that elevate the Rangers brand both locally and nationally, heighten player awareness and visibility, and support marketing and community relations initiatives. Mr. Rosasco is also responsible for all aspects of the team’s NHL player recruitment process, including assisting in the research and evaluation of prospective free agents for the hockey operations staff and team management. He helps develop and manage all communications materials to be used during the recruitment process and serves as senior team representative during free agent visits, overseeing tours of the MSG/Training Center and New York City.
Mr. Rosasco joined the New York Rangers public relations department full-time in 1992. He became Public Relations Director for the team in 1996, and was promoted to vice president in 1999.
