New York Rangers Anton Stralman and Rangers Legend Adam Graves Celebrate Season Launch of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Power Players Program
Six-week Program Kicks Off Today With a Special Event at Children's AIDS Society Milbank Dunleavy Center
The New York Rangers and Garden of Dreams Foundation kick off the third annual Power Players Program this Monday. Throughout the program, children ages 10 to 14 from three Garden of Dreams Foundation partner organizations will participate in six weeks of instruction to learn basic hockey skills and life skills led by Rangers’ Hockey Development staff. The three participating partners include Children’s Aid Society, Harlem Dowling and WHEDCo.
The Power Players Street Hockey Program provides weekly scheduled clinics, November to January, which aim to educate and inspire 75 new children and 75 returning children from the prior year- known as Power Players Selects. In addition, the kids will receive a variety of Rangers items as part of the program and will have an opportunity to play in a culminating round robin tournament in January.
The Garden of Dreams Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit charity that works with The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) to positively impact the lives of children facing obstacles, 225,000 families since its inception in 2006. Through ongoing programs that use the magic of MSG – including the Knicks, the Rangers, the Liberty, MSG Entertainment, MSG Networks and Fuse – the Foundation develops strong, long-term relationships that truly change lives.
