GAME RECAP
Despite a simply brilliant 50-save performance in goal by Henrik Lundqvist, the Rangers let a two-goal lead slip away and dropped a 5-4 overtime decision to Pittsburgh on Thursday night at The Garden. Jordan Staal scored the game-winner for the Pens with 1:18 left in the OT.

STAT OF THE GAME
Henrik Lundqvist' 50 saves are the number from this game, but a more dramatic stat was the margin by which the Penguins outshot the Blueshirts, who only fired 16 shots at the two Pittsburgh goaltenders.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Getting a point without Marian Gaborik against a top Eastern Conference team was almost a bonus in terms of the playoff push. Now tied for eighth, the Blueshirts are very much in contention for the postseason and will have Gaborik back before long. Had he played, the Rangers might have won.

THREE-STAR SELECTIONS BY NEWYORKRANGERS.COM
No. 1 star 1. Chris Drury
Notched a remarkable power-play goal from his knees at 14:39 of the first period and won 69 percent of his faceoffs. Led Rangers forwards with 23:21 of icetime.

2. Henrik Lundqvist
Faced career-high 55 shots and became first Rangers goalie to stop 50 in a game since Mike Richter had 53 saves in a 6-1 win at New Jersey on Oct. 30, 1996.

3. Brandon Dubinsky
Tallied a power play goal at 12:49 of second period to establish a new career-high in goals, with 15 on the season. The Rangers are now 9-1-2 when he scores.
