Stepan's Winner at Tampa is Moment of the Week
(Week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4)

Rangers forward Derek Stepan's game-winning goal against the Lightning with 3:19 remaining in the third period on Dec. 3 was named the newyorkrangers.com Moment of the Week for Week 9 of the 2011-12 regular season. Stepan's dramatic goal, which was part of a third-period comeback, claimed 49.4 percent of the voting by Rangers fans to edge Brad Richards' goal that opened up a 3-1 lead over Pittsburgh on Nov. 29 at The Garden. Richards, who capped off a spurt of two goals in 90 seconds to break open the game vs. the Penguins captured 39 percent of the vote. Marian Gaborik's go-ahead goal in the second period of a Dec. 1 win at Carolina finished third with 11.6 percent of the vote.

Derek Stepan caps off comeback, getting the
game-winner with only 3:19 to go in the third


Description: The Rangers had tied the game early in the third period, and Stepan, who had taken a shot off his left ankle two nights earlier at Carolina, gave them a 3-2 lead on a low slot rebound goal with 3:19 left in the game. "Our battle level was really high, and I think that was a big part of our success," he said.
